Marian Faculty Retreat 2018: Cradles to Crayons

Service to our fellow man is a significant part of our mission here at Marian. With that in mind, on Friday February 16th, the Marian faculty left the cozy confines of 273 Union Ave and ventured off to Cradles to Crayons in Brighton for our annual retreat day.  Cradles to Crayons is a wonderful organization that provides clothes, books, toys and basic necessities to struggling families. In addition to donating our time, each member of the faculty brought along an item to donate to charity.

When we first arrived at Cradles to Crayons we were greeted and separated into groups. Each group had a different task: some of us sorted through clothes to check for quality, some went “shopping” through the facility to collect items and others took those items to create care packages for families in need. All told, Marian was able to help over 300 families in the greater Boston area. It truly was a great day of service, reflection and camaraderie.
