A longstanding tradition of Catholic Schools Week occurred for the 28th time this year. The QuizDown, sponsored by the Marian chapter of the National Honor Society, was conducted in the auditorium before a lively and energized crowd. Mr. Herlihy served as always as the emcee, assisted by Ms. Morteo, timekeeper. And Ms. Gaudet and Ms. Kelly were judges.
The first round saw the junior team competing against the freshmen team. Juniors, the same team for all three years, were Molly Bogner, Paige DeVeau, Sophia Moise, and Brendan Seitz. The freshmen team consisted of Matthew Bauer, Jeremy Schneider, Carmela Silvia and Isaac Terrell. It was a closely fought contest, which the juniors won 12 to 10.
The second round involved the seniors, who were hungry for victory, competing against the sophomores. The senior team was comprised of Julianna Bauer, Ryan Gasparro, Christopher Liazos, and Aidan Scamby. The sophomores were represented by Trey Adrian, Elizabeth Brady, Ryan Wettengel, and Hannah Zolock. There was no stopping the seniors, who rolled to a decisive 26 to 12 win.
In the final round the seniors were equally dominant, routing the juniors. In thiis last chance for victory, the team representing the Class of 2018 was triumphant and vindicated. QuizDown 2018 provided another good time for all.
