Thanksgiving Food Drive A Success
For a number of years, the Marian Community has partnered with the St. Bridget Food Pantry for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. This year with the support of our Administration, faculty, staff, parents and students, we collected enough food to feed at least 15 families. The Food Drive is set up in such a way that each grade level is responsible for donating a particular item(s). In this way we hope to collect an equitable variety of items to supply a complete meal. Students were responsible for donating fruit, vegetables, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. The Administration, faculty and staff were responsible for donating bread/rolls and pies. Everyone was asked to donate a “turkey dollar”, a dollar from each person which is used to purchase Market Basket gift cards. These cards are distributed by the Food Pantry staff to allow the purchase of turkeys to complete the Thanksgiving dinner.
Once again, the Marian Community has followed the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph – to care for the “dear neighbor” without distinction.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this possible!
