Grandparent’s Day 2017
On Wednesday October 11, 2017, Marian High School welcomed more than 85 of our students and their grandparents from areas around New England and New York for a wonderful Grandparents Day celebration and luncheon. The event began with an opening prayer and remarks from our President, John Ermilio. Then Isabella Callery, ’19 and Harry Burr, ’19 got up and discussed the importance of their grandparents in their lives. They also expanded on the Marian spirit that our students experience here on a daily basis. One of the strengths of Marian that that both touched on was the ability to foster enduring relationships.
Lunch was prepared and served in a buffet style by Theresa Brossi P’19 and Kathy Zompetti. While everyone enjoyed their lunches, the members of the orchestra and school chorus led by Mr. Stephen Flynn and Mr. George Perrone filled the cafeteria with beautiful ambiance and charm. After lunch, cake and coffee were served by the grandchildren to their grandparents.
After the luncheon concluded, Principal, Mr. Brian Donohue, gave out final remarks and the grandparents toured the school to see the classrooms, library, auditorium and the gymnasium where their grandchildren spend their high school days.
The Grandparents were thrilled to spend time with their grandchildren and were so delighted by all of the wonderful things they got to enjoy. The smiles on the students faces showed they enjoyed the day as well. Before departing each grandparent were given a “Proud Grandparent of a Marian Mustang” t-shirt as a thank you for spending the afternoon with us!
