Multicultural Week 2017
The annual Multicultural show was held at Marian on March 15th. Students from different countries sang, danced and played instruments. After the awesome Parade of Flags, Stephanie Monteiro from Brazil sang the French classic “Je ne regrette rien” by Edith Piaf. Mrs. A’s Spanish I class delighted us with De Colores and her French 1,2,3 classes sang Aux Champs Elysees, an old favorite. Elizabeth Delaney, who is from South Korea, amazed us with the Adele song”Don’t you Remember”, sung in Korean and English. Frances Jin played the instrument from China called the pipa. Billy Zhang sang a Japanese song titled “The Dreamer of Imagination.”
We ended with a presentation from Wesleyan college, Education First. They talked about Cambodia and how they spent a month there, with no running water nor refrigeration, yet we can help these schoolchildren with just $25.00 per month. That gives them 3 meals a day and a trip to school. The next day was a dress down day and we sent $212.00 to Cambodia First! Great ending to a great week!
