2. Outside Reading “The Koran” Due on Friday.
Monday Jan. 30— The Rise of Islam. Lecture and discussion on how Mohammad became the prophet of Islam and the teachings of Islam. Homework- Read Chapter 10 Section 1 “The Rise of Islam” Page 304-308, Outside Reading “The Koran” Due on Friday.
Tuesday Jan. 31 – Video “The Story of Islam”. Students will complete a study guide while viewing the video. Homework- Read Chapter 10 Section 2 “Building a Muslim Empire” Page 310-316
Wednesday Feb 1 – Quiz Section 1. Building a Muslim Empire. Lecture and discussion on how Muslims were able to conquer many lands and the divisions that emerged within Islam. Homework- Read Chapter 10 Section 3 “Muslim Civilization’s Golden Age” Page 317-323
Thursday Feb. 2 – “The Story of Islam”. Students will complete a study guide while viewing the video.
Friday Feb 3 – Map Islamic Empire. Homework- Crossword Puzzle “The Muslim World” and Read Chapter 10 Section 4 “India’s Muslim Empires” Page 329-333
