The Olympian Gods and Goddesses

In Greek mythology, twelve gods and goddesses ruled the universe from atop Greece's Mount Olympus.

These Olympians had come to power after their leader, Zeus, overthrew his father, Kronos, leader of the Titans.

All the Olympians are related to one another.

The Romans adopted most of these Greek gods and goddesses, but with new names.

Zeus (Roman name: Jupiter)

Hera (Roman name: Juno)

Poseidon (Roman name: Neptune)

Hades (Roman name: Pluto)

Aphrodite (Roman name: Venus)

Apollo (Roman name: Apollo also)

Ares (Roman name: Mars)

Artemis (Roman name: Diana)

Athena (Roman name: Minerva)

Hephaestus (Roman name: Vulcan)

Hestia (Roman name: Vesta)

Hermes (Roman name: Mercury)

…also sometimes included:

Demeter (Roman name: Ceres)

Dionysus (Roman name: Bacchus)

We will choose a Roman god/goddess from the list.  Please write a two-page paper telling of his/her powers

and/or position and also tell one or more stories related to this deity.
